Upcoming iPhone game: SOMERSAULT!

Hi all,

Enter-Brain-Ment is an independent game development studio located in Berlin. We are currently porting our Award Winning game Somersault for the iPhone.

Somersault is an action platform game with really great graphics. We are re-designing and improving the graphics and are adding more game-features to the iPhone version. Our aim is to produce a high class game using all the possibilities the iPhone offers.

The main features of the game are:
• Intuitive and unique controls – draw a paddle on the screen to control the character, turn the mobile to change the view from portrait format to landscape, zoom in and out with 2 fingers
• Full 3-D graphics
• 20 levels in 6 different worlds with unique designs
• A huge variety of enemies
• Different power ups and abilities
• Online high score + Twitter & Facebook connection

Somersault will be released in February 2010.

Hi folks,

we have been really busy lately with the development of Somersault. Today we present you our latest gameplay video with all the new elements we finished so far.

You can see/hear:
1 new level (nature world)
the menu screen
all levels with light- and shadowmaps
game elements like coins
the User Interface
new soundtrack for the nature world

we kept on working really hard the last weeks and tweaked the levels a bit more. Please have a look at the new graphics. We finally see the end coming and are hoping to submit in end of November! You will love the game!

Hi,

we got further in the production of Somersault and implemented the enemies. Please watch our new video were you can see the latest progress and the first enemies.

Unfortunately we will not be able to release the game in the next week. We had to move the launchdate to end of December. I hope you all can wait a little longer but we want to release a 100% finished game. There were too many ideas we wanted to implement.

unfortunately we were not able to finish the game yet. We had some problems in the production process and again we added some new ideas. For those reasons we have to postpone the release date to February 2010. We hope you guys can understand that but this is our baby and it has to be perfect :)
We are really sorry and believe us that we cannot wait to release the game to see how much you like it.

Hi!

We were excited about the release of the new iPad and that it will be compatible with iPhone apps. But we were wondering how especially 2D games will look on a bigger screen… Somersault should work fine as the whole game is 3D but we are not sure if the processor of the iPad is strong enough to let the games run smoothly on a higher solution.

What do you think or did you hear anything about that?

Well basically its a platform game in which the player draws the platform on the screen to move the character through the levels. The paddle you see in the video is the platform and the rainbow indicates the direction in which the character jumps.
